The Help

Happy Saturday Night.

Well, with my husband out of town the country and the boys tucked in their beds, it seems I couldn't come up with anything better to do, so I watched a movie.  Just flippin through the channels I came across the movie "The Help."

There are few "words" in the movie.  **I don't know why they have to put language in movies.  Drives me nuts.**  Despite this I must say I have throughly enjoyed the movie.

The movie is so well done.  One minute you're crying and the next laughing.  Anything I can say wouldn't do it justice.  This is not a christian movie.  There was no Bible lesson, no teaching, preaching or scripture reading.  There was however one BIG valuable lesson to be learned.  And that is LOVE.

Can't say anymore.  Just go see it.

Alone

It all began last Thurs. when I drove my parents to the airport for a 10 day trip to Arizona.

Sure, I can handle my parents being gone.  No problem.  Piece of cake.  After all, I'm a married woman and a mother of two.  Right?!

Well, everything was fine and dandy until Monday morning when my husband left town for 4 days.  To top things off, it's spring break this week and my kids were off school.  That's right.  Not only did my parents leave, now my husband is gone and I'm alone with the kids.

Don't get me wrong, I love my kids and I love having them home.  It's just hard when you don't have anyone to share the load.  But, have no fear, my mother-in-law arrived late Monday to help out.  And was she ever a help.  It was nice having her here.

So, today she took them away with her for the weekend.  I must admit I was a little looking forward to it.  I know, I'm a bad mother.  But I digress.

Andy returned today from his trip only to unpack his suitcase and repack it for the weekend away at his parents.  He was home long enough to tease me and he was gone again.  That's right, gone.  I couldn't go along because I have previous obligations.   So, that leaves me alone.  No kids, no hubby, no parents to hang with.  Just me.

Every mothers dream.  Right?...Wrong.  I miss them already.  I ate dinner at Burger King by myself and went for ice cream at Dairy Queen by myself.  (We'll talk about my diet another time!)  ;\

It was weird.  Oh, and by the way, did you know that the fish that are sold at the pet stores are actually delivered in a truck?  Yeah, I didn't know that either.  Never really thought about it, but it made me chuckle.  And again, I digress.

So, here I am all alone.  And feeling a little blue.  I know I should be happy and enjoying myself, but it would be easier if my peeps were with me.

Now, tomorrow I may be singing a different tune.  I might be jumping for joy and praying that the time will never end.  But for now I'll just sit here (alone) and be reminded how much I love my family and how truly blessed I am.

I would like you to meet...

I want to introduce you to a couple of "things."  First is Buddy.

This is Buddy.  My Mom and Dad just adopted him last week.  He is stinkin cute.  And all puppy.  Loves to chew and nip and jump.  I love him.

It's been a long time since we have had a new puppy in the family, so we are all enjoying him.  Well, except for my nephew.  He is more afraid of Buddy than anything else.

That's me and Buddy just hanging out on the couch.  (He's not supposed to be on the couch, so don't tell anyone.)  :]

He was "captured" and put in "jail."  In other words, he was being naughty.  :[  Poor little guy.

                *************************************

Okay, before I post waaay too many pictures of the dog I better move on and introduce you to something else.  This is...

Doug!  Yes, I named a plant Doug.  I'm a little embarassed to admit this, but it just sort of happened.  This very large plant was given to me as a "remembrance" of my former boss, Doug.  You see, it used to belong to him and he was unable to take it with him during his move, so it now has a new home.

I am really not mental even though it may come across that way.  This is by no means a "shrine" or anything weird like that.  It's just a beautiful plant that happened to need a name.  Well, I think the name fits.  How bout you, do you like the name or are you calling in the institution to reserve me a room?

:]

Happy February One!

If it is February 1st, then someone better tell the weatherman!!  This must be the warmest February I can ever remember.

Here's hoping you've enjoyed this weather.  If not, I'll send you some warmth through these pictures!!

***********************************************************

On another note, I just have to mention one of my frustrations.

Has this ever happened to you?...
You hear your cell phone ringing and you can't find it.  Or, you hear it ring and you know it's in your purse, but you have to dig through the bottomless pit to find it only to finally grab it and miss the call?!  Aaah!!!  That has been happening to me A. LOT. lately.  Drives me crazy!!

Why is it that we carry everything but the kitchen sink in our purse?  I don't know about you, but I am definately thinking about downsizing.  I know that as soon as that happens inevitably I will need something and will no longer have it because of my downsizing.

Sigh.

What's a girl to do?

Don't get me started on finding my keys in the bottomless pit!!  ;]

Happy New Year

Well, all I want to say is:  "Can I have another Christmas please?"  That's right, a complete do-over.  This holiday season just flew by.  Not to mention the fact that I was (still am) sick.  It really made for a bummer of a holiday.
Really I am not as depressed as this post may sound, just sad that the holidays are over.  Our tree is down, nativities put away, stockings no longer hung.  But I love that it's a new year.  A fresh start.  Taking down the Christmas decor allows time for dusting and cleaning.  I love that.  So, things are looking a little bare around here, but it's nice.

I hope to get all of my thoughts put together to share with you some goals and thoughts for 2012.  They are still a jumbled mess in my brain.  I hope you will bare with me until then.  If you have any goals for 2012 I would love to hear what they are.  You may inspire me.

My confession

So, if you've checked in here lately you will see I haven't been blogging much.  Truth be told...I've been sick.  Still fighting this stupid cold.  Anti-biotics help, but I'm still waiting to get "over the hump."  I've managed to still go to work, however, I've noticed I'm just going through the motions.  This Christmas season has really drained me.  Not just physically.  Haven't felt much like computing, reading or really doing anything at all.  I have only been working on puzzles.  Ahhh.  It's been a bit of therapy for me as I recoop.
Well, anyway, tomorrow we head out of town for a few days to visit hubby's family.  I'm desperately looking forward to some rest and relaxation.  All of that to say, you might not hear much from me over the next several days.  Unless of course, my gumption to compute live returns.  Blast this stupid cold.

Happy New Year!
God Bless You.

Stay Tuned

Hi Friends,
Just wanted to let you know I'm still around.  My computer got a bug.  UGH!!!  So, I'm on the dinosaur right now.  (our old computer)  And, well, quite frankly, I do not want to upload photos to this computer.  So, my DPP is on hold, if not dead.  :{

So, right now I can only follow you guys.  And hopefully I'll have something fun to share when our computer is well again.
