December Photo Project

December Ninth

********************************

Just a night at home playing UNO.  I decided in between games to take a break.  A Chocolate Reddi-Whip break.  Yummo!!  (If you haven't had the chocolate kind yet, you must try it.  It is fabulous!!)  The kids love to squirt it straight into their mouths.  I for one can't stand the thought of doing that.  How about you?  Do you squirt it straight or onto a spoon?

A song for you.

I was at work yesterday and a sweet lady mentioned this song to me and that I had to listen to it.  So, naturally I did.  Wanted to share it with you.

I thought it was nice.  I hope you enjoyed it too.

Hubby came home tonight!!  YAY!  Not the most exciting picture I know, but the excitement is in his arrival. Suitcase left right where he rolled it.  :}  (I'm sorry for the dark picture.  The flash scares the dog and she just happened to be right here!)

Good night all!

the Word Wednesday

Hi friends.  I hope you'll forgive me for getting this posted so late.  My day got away from me, but I've been burdened to get this written.
I haven't been able to get my mind off of the birth of Jesus.  I might have mentioned last week that Luke 2 is one of my favorite passages of scripture, so I decided to stay put this week.  Just might for the month of December.

Luke 2:6-7
And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born.  She gave birth to her first child, a son.  She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

So much comes to mind when I read these verses.  Mary was far away from home.  She had been riding a donkey for days and was now asked to deliver her baby in a stable.  Oh how I wish I could have been there.  I try to imagine that is was a peaceful quiet softly lit place, when really I'm sure it was just opposite.  I'm sure the ground was hard and I'm sure she screamed from the pain.  And I can only imagine the smells and the noises coming from the animals.  It could have been dark and maybe cold.  I'm sure she wished she had more than strips of cloth to wrap her baby.  I'm sure she used the best of what was available to her.  This is all so different than how we have given birth.  And yet, He was our savior.  Such a humble way to make His presence.  Yes, I sure wish I could have been there.  It has made the Christmas story all the more special.

December Sixth

December Photo Project

********************************

Hi my friends.  I've been having a lot of fun taking part in the DPP.  When I went to bed last night I had no idea what today's picture would be.  Little did I know that first thing in the morning, and I mean first thing, I would have my photo.  I didn't want this photo to be the one that got posted.  However, this just describes my day.  And after all, isn't that what the DPP is all about?

Let me explain a little.  This was a beautiful framed picture of the nativity.  A Christmas gift from my hubby 2 years ago.  I fell in love with it in the store and told him to buy it for me for Christmas, so naturally like any good husband would he bought it for me.  (It required no thought on his part.)  Well, at 6:00 this morning I was startled awake by the sound of a horrible crash followed by shatterd glass.  Imagine my despair when I learned that this is what fell.  :{
I know there are far worse things in life, so I'm going to let it go.
Happy 6th everyone!

Dinner is especially yummy (as Rach would say d-lish) when you don't have to make it.  Thanks Mom!
