October Snow!

Well, this is a first for me.  The weatherman was calling for 2-4 inches of snow.  I didn't believe them.  I guess I should have.  Here is what it looked like as it just started to snow.
It really started to accumulate quickly.  Something about pumpkins covered with snow just doesn't seem right!

My poor roses!

We decided to go to Home Depot to get some supplies for my table project.  Had to hit the thrift store too.  What better place to go on a snowy day?!  We weren't quite ready to head home, but after a very near accident (God's hand at work) we decided to come home.  Too close for comfort.
Collin just laying around.  Tired after an overnighter at church. :)
It was cold enough to light the fire.  Andy headed to the wood pile.  I love a crackling fire in the fireplace and the smell of fire.
Since we became home-bound, Andy decided it was time to give Collin a haircut.  As you can see, he is less than thrilled!

All in all it was a good day.  They enjoyed playing in the snow.  There was some damage from the snow.  Nothing major.  The trees couldn't handle the weight of the snow while still holding leaves.  We lost some braches.  But way too pretty and definately a treat.

Playing Cop!

One thing Britt has never been short on is an imagination.  Lately he has been imitating Bo and Luke Duke, drawing the General Lee and watching the Dukes!
Although, now he wants to be Rosco P. Coletrain.  Tonight he got a leather memo tablet, so he can be a cop.  That wasn't enough.  He asked for fake money, so we headed to the computer and printed some out.

Who knew you could print fake money off of the internet, but sure enough, that is what we did.  The purpose of the money?... to bail out the Dukes of course!
So, that is what he is doing now.  Applying the money to the ticket you see on his tablet!  Oh, to be a kid again.

The family dinner table.

Our dinner table has seen its share of abuse.  Take a look.

Well, I decided it was time to do something about it.  First, I put some stripper on it, then spent some time with the sander and this is what it looks like now.

It looks better already.  The hard part is next.  I have to stain it and I've never done it before, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, we went from a decent family sized table,

to a much smaller sized table.
We are enjoying it for the time being, but I'll be ready to have room for family and food at the same time.  I'll keep you posted!

Sweet Victory!

For the past 2 months my life has been wrapped up in my volleyball team.  Last weekend we had the league tournament and it was exciting.  Sitting through a nail biter Friday night to make it to the championship game on Saturday.  Five games later, we were the champs!
I love these girls!

Family Life!

Playing Cards around the table.
Saturday's are for...

Andy cooking breakfast in the great outdoors!
Collin mowing the yard.
Britt building.

Andy working...

and giving us a "gun" show!  And me,  I just stop and smell the roses!
